Karin Bredenberg edited this page Feb 14, 2024 · 2 revisions

Attendees

  • Aaron Elkiss (chair)
  • Karin Bredenberg
  • Tobias Steinke
  • Juha Lehtonen
  • Robin Wendler
  • Bertrand Caron
  • Andreas Nef (notes)

iPres

  • Agreed to do a post, deadline for the abstract is May 15th. Focus?
    • Final public release of 2.0
    • General description
    • Advantages/motivation for 2.0
    • Graphcial structure of METS 2.0
  • Later submit a post and a recording.
  • Resources for Getting started/migration?

Profiles

  • Aaron has been advancing on this.
  • Version of the profile schema was already on 2.x, presumably leading to a bit of confusion.
    • METS2_profile.xsd (using mets2.xsd)
  • Registration:
    • Should be less formal, not necessarily involve LoC
    • Template on github to upload
    • Review/check for formal correctness by the Board (not community review anymore?)
      • Would also allow to remove at least the REGISTRATION attribute
    • Leave METS 1 profiles on LoC website (as they are referenced)
  • Documentation
    • Same as with the METS schema, i.e. documentation within the XSD.
    • Aaron is updating the documentation from the profiles and reviewing the registration process.

Primer

  • The primer has been split and uploaded to the wiki. Suggestions are to be found in the google doc which is only for internal Board use.
  • Examples should not be integrated into the primer but managed separately to be able to update/extend them more easily. Examples would just be fragments of an entire METS XML file (which are usually accompanying the profiles).
  • Tobias could continue looking at chapter 1 and 2. Need a decision on what to do with chater 2, i.e. doing an entire example.
  • Spliting chapter 3 into separte wiki pages based on recommendations
  • Chapter 4 by Andreas (Inge?)
  • Chapter 5 to be covered by Aaron in the context of the profiles.
  • Chapter 6 maybe handled by Inge, touching on the question of vocabularies.
