Attendees:
- Aaron Elkiss (chair)
- Sean Mosely (minutes)
- Karin Bradenberg
- Bertrand Caron
- Robin Wendler
- Juha Lehtonen`
- Karin has begun a role with Sydarkivera, working with Swedish Municipal and Regional archives.
- Aaron is now working as an Enterprise Architect directly with Hathi Trust (although still employed by the University of Michigan).
- Sean is now working as a Solution Architect at Te Tari Taiwhenua the Department of Internal Affairs. All three will continue their tenure on the METS Board.
- Aaron will receive applications and put them in the Board's Google Drive folder for circulation with the Board.
- Karin will make updates to the web pages concerning membership, and set Aaron's email address as the contact.
- The Board will no longer require references for new applicants. In the event that references are required, the Board will request them from the applicant.
- The Board will consider inviting individual people, should we identify any that would be a good fit for the Board.
- There was a link on the METS Schema Docs webpage that went to an empty README file. Karin has added a line to that file instructing users on how to complete a change request.
- A couple of pull requests have been submitted: one from Bertrand and one from Andreas.
- Bertrand has volunteered to assist with the Spanish translation over the next few weeks.
- The person who will be working on the Portuguese translation is not currently able to work on it; this should hopefully change around December or so.
- Aaron has been working on a pull request to move the change history to xsd:documentation attributes.
- The Board has agreed that this change should be versioned as 1.12.1.
- Aaron will complete these changes, and email the link to Karin so she can get Glen to update it on the LoC website.
- Andreas placed a list of tools in the relevant issue, but we should put it in the GitHub wiki
- Bertand suggested we consider COPTR as a new home for the tools list. He will investigate to see if we can have a METS page there and indicate something about METS on the individual tools pages.
- The GitHub issue for METSRights was still open at the time of the meeting. Aaron closed the issue.
- Aaron provided a list of METS Profiles which cite METSRights to Robin, who will chase up with their owners to inform them of the schema location change. Aaron will get in touch with Paul Fogel / CDL about the UC profiles.
- This issue may require a face-to-face discussion on possible options. This may require us to revisit previous conversations on METS Light, or METS/RDF.
