Hello Nancy!
I am working with Ruth Duerr as student programmer at National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC). We have developed metadata for Sea and Ice data using METS, PREMIS and ISO. We are using ISO 19115 in descriptive metadata section while PREMIS in administrative metadata section. We have used ISO because it is replacing FGDC standard. But we can’t validate our METS files as ISO is not in the METS’s approved metadata standards to be used in METS.

Could you please update METS Schema and add ISO in the supported metadata standard enumeration list.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Azhar Sikander

Note by Rick Beaubien (2009-11-10): it appears that ISO 19115 is not represented by an XML schema.(?) However, this is not a pre-requisite for adding it to the enumerated list for MDTYPEs.
