Main form of communication: GDG North America Google+ page
As per Martin's email after the 2015 North American Community Summit:
As decided at the All North America Community Summit last weekend, all North America GDG announcements and discussions will take place in the GDG North America Organizers community on Google+. You as a GDG organizer will only need to check in one place for North America updates. Make sure you are a member, or you will miss announcements about Google I/O, summits, swag, new materials for you chapter, etc.
Not a member? Follow these steps:
- Go to https://plus.google.com/communities/104494343188067784886. Sign in if asked. If you see any posts you are a member and can proceed to step 4.
- If you see the message "Sorry, you need an invitation to join this private community", email Martin and Kubra and ask for an invitation.
- We will send you an invitation via Google+ within 48 hours. Go to https://plus.google.com and check your notifications, by clicking on the red circle with a number in it. Accept the invitation to the community.
- To make sure you get notified about new posts, go to the community (https://plus.google.com/communities/104494343188067784886) and check that the notification bell is red and accompanied by the text "Notifications on". If it says "Notifications off", click it once to turn them on.
- GDG NA Google+ Hangout: Ask your mentor in your region to be added.
- GDG NA Slack: Fill out form to be added - http://goo.gl/KW62YS
Each region often has its own communication portals through mentors. When you have questions, you should be reaching out to the mentors in the region first.
