I understood the first verse to mean: "Our martyr Claudius needed time (and days) when he ran in conflict to the door of Cesar".

OK! What shall I do about the edition? Shall I keep the manuscript from BNFabb145 or should I update it according to bm:Afawarq1984Yageezqeneyat?
Afawarq makes seven verses, what is not listed in Guidis overview, as far as I see.
Afawarq gives አስካል instead of አካል. What is the better text?

አስካልአካል?
May I create a PRS ID for Afawarq Zawde, or do we have him already (e.g. perhaps PRS14488Afawarq, which is not merged yet).

Actually we are supposed to take the text from the edition, but the value of this specific edition is difficult to estimate. But the edition show that it is "sellase". This apostrophe after ገድል marks the end of the very long line (I assume that), and the line break after አማኑኤል was possibly missed in Abb 145. Then we come to sellase, six lines. Why should we need a record for Afeworq, a modern editor? You can look up the division of the information in the few qene records where bm:Afawarq1984Yageezqeneyat has been used.

I wanted to know or create an PRS ID in order to distinguish his emendations or corrections from mine. However, if we stick to the edition, this will not be needed.

I think you can follow also the edition, Abb 145 will be the only witness. አካል seems to make a little more sense.

I would translate this as "... the poor of the time and days ..."

You mean either "on" or "of"?
I would prefer "... the poor of the time and days ..."

I think "poor in time and days..." is more idiomatic.

Whatever. Maybe, this expression relates somehow to his hagiography.
