User Guide
When you first open Baseball Card Tracker (BBCT), the main menu appears, offering the following options: Add Cards, Find Cards, About, and Exit. Each option appears as a button link and is explained below:

- Add Cards — Click this button to add new cards to your collection.
- Find Cards — Click this button to find existing cards in your collection and to update their monetary value and the number of cards you own.
- About — Click this button to display information about this software, including version and licensing information and a copyright notice.
- Exit — Click this button to exit the application.
The Add Cards window contains the Card Details section, which allows you to input specific information about a baseball card in your collection. You can type corresponding details into the following fields: Card Brand, Card Year, Card Number, Card Value, and Card Count (total number of cards that you own in that particular series). Once you have typed information into a field, use the tab button to move the cursor to the next input field.

Below the Card Details section is the Player Details section, which allows you to type in the Player Name and to choose the Player Position from a drop-down menu. The Player Position drop-down menu allows you to choose among the various baseball player positions: Pitcher, Catcher, First Base, Second Base, Third Base, Shortstop, Left Field, and Center Field.
When you have finished inputting all of the requested information into the Card Details and Player Details sections, you will notice two button links at the bottom of the Add Cards window: Add Card and Back. These buttons are explained below:
- Add Card — Click this button to add the data you just entered and to clear all fields so that you can enter data for the next card. [This button is not yet implemented.]
- Back — Click this button to return to the main menu.

The Find Cards option allows you to search for a card in your collection by year, number, both year and number, or player name. After you have clicked the Find Cards button, you will see a menu containing the following corresponding button options:
- Find Cards by Year — When you click this button, the resulting window allows you to enter the Card Year in the input field.

- Find Cards by Number — When you click this button, the resulting window allows you to enter the Card Number in the input field.

- Find Cards by Year and Number — When you click this button, the resulting window features two input fields, allowing you to enter the Card Year and then the Card Number.

- Find Cards by Player Name — When you click this button, the resulting window allows you to enter the Player Name in the input field.

After you have filled out the input field(s) for a card search, each of these “Find Cards by…” windows provides two button options at the bottom of the window, Find and Back, which are explained below:
- Find — When you click the Find button, the program will find cards in your collection that match your search criteria and will display the card details in the Edit Card window so that you can alter them as necessary.
- Back — When you click the Back button, you will return to the Find Cards menu.
The Edit Card window appears after you have entered data into a “Find Cards by…” window from the Find Cards menu. The Edit Card window allows you to view each card that matches the search criteria that you just entered. This window also allows you to edit the monetary value and number of cards that you own in that particular series.

After you have viewed and edited the card information, you will see three button options at the bottom of the window, which are explained below:
- <-- Previous — Click this button to navigate to the previous card that matched your search criteria.
- Next --> — Click this button to navigate to the next card that matched your search criteria.
- Done — Click this button to store your changes, if any, and return to the Find Cards menu.
