Recommended gaming settings on Windows

With JYCN34WW BIOS, to maximize the gaming performance on Windows, a recommended setting is as below:

  • Switch to dGPU only mode in the BIOS or select nvidia only in the nvidia control panel.

  • Switch to performance mode

  • Install nvidia 528.24 studio driver and disable the NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework in Windows device manager. By doing so nvidia dynamic boost is disabled.

    • nvidia dynamic boost basically functions by controlling the frequency scaling of the CPU. That is, say if nvidia driver decides to boost the GPU power by 20 watts, it would force the CPU to run on lower frequencies so the CPU could spare 20 watts of power for the GPU. Disabling dynamic boost could keep the CPU running at higher frequencies and higher power to ensure its performance considering the fact the 12th gen alderlake CPU is hungry for power.
  • Set the GPU power limit to 125% with MSI Afterburner.

As above, you would get your laptop's GPU running at 100W(80W x 125%) power and CPU at 60W.
