An online tool for translating, editing, and validating GL helps resources. The GL resources are presented in parallel with the published English source texts so the GL translators can compare to and translate from the published English resources. It opens both markdown and TSV files with the TSV resources displaying the associated scripture and highlighted alignment between the scripture and the resource (TSV feature).

Phase 1

tc Create 1.0-1.1.x

The goal of this phase is to allow users to translate both markdown and TSV resources.

  • TSV translation

    Present users with the TSV record but also the associated scripture text and allow them to translate the text in their own file.

  • Markdown translation

    Users can translate our markdown resources in a file by file manner.

  • OBS

    Users can translate OBS and OBS helps from within tC Create.

Phase 2

tc Create 1.2-1.5

The goal of this phase is to scale tC Create to be more stable and allow users to take greater control over their resources by taking advantage of the latest TSV formats.

  • TWL TSVs (v.1.3)

    Users will be able to edit TWLs and add and delete rows as needed.

  • Source from published versions (v.1.3)

    The English source text will be the latest published version for GL translations.

  • Content validation (v.1.4)

    User can run a validation on the current resource and discover various errors within TSV files.

  • AutoSave (v.1.4)

    Users' data will be retained even after an internet outage or on unreliable connections.

  • TQ TSVs (v.1.4)

    Users will be able to edit TQs and add and delete rows as needed.

  • 7 Column TSVs (v. 1.5)

    Users will be able to edit the seven-column TN, SN, and SQ TSVs with tC Create.

Phase 3

tc Create 1.6+ Enhancements to the most common workflows.

  • Performance improvements

    Currently it takes ~90 seconds to render 100 rows of a TN. This needs to be reduced to ~10s or less.

  • Chapter and verse navigation

    Users should be able to navigate directly to a chapter and verse in a TSV.

  • Retaining location of row

    Users shouldn't have to search for the current row. After adding, deleting, searching or filtering a row, the view should remain on the currently selected row.

  • Support Reference dropdown The app should give a dropdown of all of the TA article names

  • Cursor navigation improvements

  • Better Branch Handling The app shouldn't create a branch until the user saves their edits, and users should be warned if their branch is out of date.

Phase 4

  • OBS TSVs (v.1.4)

    Users will be able to translate OBS helps - TN, TQ, SN, SQ in TSV.

  • Pull down, Push up Allow users to update from master and merge to master without conflicts.

  • Switching source versions

    The default English version can be specified as the source text by a GL administrator and the user can navigate to other versions if desired.

  • Display variable amount of text for the related scripture in TSV

    The user will be able to choose how much context the scripture viewer displays while navigating TSVs.

  • Offline support

    tC Create is enabled to work in an offline manner for an extended period of time. Files can be transferred to other users through the filesystem (email, SD card).

  • RTL support

    tC Create RTL languages in a user friendly manner.

  • Notes Templates When the user creates a new note, they are offered a pre-written note template based on the support reference the user chooses.
