Hi, I'm Kitze 👋️
I'm trying to open-source as much of my work as possible. First of all, I do it so I can reuse the libraries between my projects. Every time I open-source something, it's always improved by the community, which is super valuable. Even though some of my projects are closed-source or paid (I wrote an article about this), I'm trying to open source some parts of them, because they might be useful to others. I also have repos like awesome-conference-practices which are focused on improving the culture of the community.
Apps
Twizzle
I was (and still am) struggling with Twitter addiction, and when I tried to completely block Twitter on my computer, I still felt the need to compose tweets and send DMs. That's why I made Twizzle, so I can tweet and send DMs without getting consumed by the timeline and constant distractions. Twizzle was previously a paid app, but I decided to make it free and open-source just because I want to make it more accessible, so more people can solve this problem for themselves and start being more careful about their social media consumption. I have open-sourced the landing page a long time ago.
JSUI
As a developer, I have too many projects on my machine that I was struggling to manage, organize, run, etc. One day the chaos got so bad that I had to stop and write JSUI, just to get my sanity back. Nowadays, I rarely use a terminal. I run must of my stuff in JSUI. I open-sourced it because I think it can become an even better product when it's shaped by the opinions and needs of the webdev community.
