About the PR

nerfs in order are:

  • artifact fragments nerfed into the ground, its so fucking easy to do and 32k is a joke
  • lasers bounty decreased to 15k, its just buy mats and have sec print practice lasers, its not worth 25k.
    the description should probably be changed to ask for practice specifically since everyone knows about the "meta", and it would be very funny ic if you sent real lasers to a laser tag tournament :trollface:
  • tech disks nerfed to 10k, sci can make 5k points in seconds it is completely piss easy
  • batteries nerfed to 6k but also made it just need 8 batteries so its somewhat possible to scavenge them instead of just literally go to the autolathe, search cell, type 15, press print
  • cuban carp reduced to 9k so its worth less than carp bounty. the carp bounty usually requires you to race against the wreck despawning time to get it sold, so having one you can make from fillets be worth more is weird (the ingredients of cheese and chili are even mapped roundstart sometimes lmao)
  • brain bounty decreased to 6.5k since it just needs 1 salv corpse, very easy to do at any point in the round
  • percussion decreased to 8.2k so it has less of an extreme profit margin (they never get found anywhere, you just pay 5k to buy the 1 of 2 types of instruments that satisfy it, then sell the rest)
  • prison uniforms nerfed to 5k, its literally just 12 cloth
  • spears dropped by 1k since its very cheap to make, just a bit of labour

some increases:

  • artifact bounty increased to 5k since if its a fully explored non-scam artifact you actually lose money doing the bounty, since usually youd get ~3k minimum. because youd lose money it would be better to buy a new artifact for 2k then sell it instead of selling a good one
  • lungs increased to 6k, its a more specialized bounty compared to organs so it should be worth more
  • carp and shark teeth made actually worth selling (2.4k and 7.4k) with a good profit margin, carp teeth isnt exactly hard to do but does require that salv doesnt just die immediately, which is a challenge in and of itself :trollface:
  • mice increased to 8k, its surprisingly hard to do when everyone eats mice immediately. youd basically have to sit in disposals the entire round looking for dead mice and then hope the bounty comes up (especially on servers with felenids...)
  • warm clothes increased to 4k, its abnormally low for something that takes multiple vendors to complete
  • trash increased to 1.5k as for 500 its not worth the time when the 10 steel you get from recycling the bountys trash is more useful for the time spent packing it and bringing it to the ats
  • cardboard boxes increased because its purely tedious, buy cardboard then wait for 3 minutes clicking craft over and over. could probably reduce the amount instead of increasing the bounty because tedious doesnt mean good

Why / Balance

a few op bounties being rolled can completely bankroll cargo based purely off rng which is bad for balance
the really bad ones always just get skipped (especially carp teeth its a guaranteed skip)

in general "buy this thing and resell it" bounties are incredibly boring

someone needs to add a medkit/burn kit bounty explicitly referencing the possibility of this
"someone sent us real lasers instead of practice lasers for our laser turrets and all of our cadets are fried to a crisp. can you fix us up?"

I would change the contents of the instrument bounties, they're all reliant on ordering from cargo to get multiples of each

why is there a test dedicated to making sure bounties cant be profitable it doesnt even work (see: percussion as-is, cooking supplies for pancakes, etc)

Wait, you guys craft cardboard boxes instead of buying pizza for 600, sending omnizine to chemlab, keeping meat bounty slices and sending rest to the crew while boxes are perfect for bounty?

Never in my life I saw this bounty completed if it was not by using roundstart/maints food spawns to be honest. Not sure if such complex recipes that chefs do not even know about should be even bounties.
