Other Unix operating systems have been ported to RISC-V, not just Linux. FreeBSD was the first, then Linux, and now OpenBSD and Haiku are in the process of being ported. We should remain OS-agnostic.

The platform names chosen with approval of the RISC-V leadership team are the following:
OS/A Platform: This will replace the Linux-2022 platform
M Platform: This will replace the Embedded-2022 platform
Patches for the above changes will be made shortly

Slides here (Slide 7) detail this change https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-wznMqcUpdZl2bt8tYXeF5JupYagqXUuuF7iVVtPuTA/edit#slide=id.gd1627bd883_3_0

The above platform names will also be listed in the Platform Policy document that is currently undergoing final review and will be ratified within the next few weeks.
