This page shall list all nomenclatorial acts, grouped by their effect on the taxonomic tree.


Rename

Description: A taxon gets a new name. Dependent names of SubTaxa get changed accordingly.

Example Rename Lucidella adamsiana (L. Pfeiffer, 1849) into Lucidella evasiana (F. Miller, 2023)

Tree before:

  • Lucidella adamsiana (L. Pfeiffer, 1849)
    • Lucidella adamsiana adamsiana (L. Pfeiffer, 1849)
    • Lucidella adamsiana sublaevis H. B. Baker, 1934

Tree after:

  • Lucidella evasiana (F. Miller, 2023)
    • Lucidella evasiana adamsiana (L. Pfeiffer, 1849)
    • Lucidella evasiana sublaevis H. B. Baker, 1934

Split

Description: A new taxon that includes a subset of the individuals of a current taxon. A split act lists the subtaxa (if any) and specimens (if any) belonging to the new taxon. Note: A split into two new taxa should be expressed combining a Split and a Rename Act.
