Try to use setup-moonbit action to build on Ubuntu, macOS and Windows.
To see an action running detail example, go: https://github.com/hustcer/moonbit-core/actions/runs/8189973593

BTW:
I'm guessing this PR won't be accepted, but I'll give it a shot 🤣

Thanks. At this stage, we prefer to write clear scripts directly rather than introducing a black box. If you can help write these CI scripts, we would also appreciate it.

Chat

There are 3 ways to chat with CodeRabbit:

  • Review comments: Directly reply to a review comment made by CodeRabbit. Example:
-- I pushed a fix in commit <commit_id>, please review it.
-- Generate unit testing code for this file.
    • Open a follow-up GitHub issue for this discussion.
  • Files and specific lines of code (under the "Files changed" tab): Tag @coderabbitai in a new review comment at the desired location with your query. Examples:
-- @coderabbitai generate unit testing code for this file.
    -- @coderabbitai modularize this function.
  • PR comments: Tag @coderabbitai in a new PR comment to ask questions about the PR branch. For the best results, please provide a very specific query, as very limited context is provided in this mode. Examples:
-- @coderabbitai generate interesting stats about this repository and render them as a table.
-- @coderabbitai read src/utils.ts and generate unit testing code.
-- @coderabbitai read the files in the src/scheduler package and generate a class diagram using mermaid and a README in the markdown format.
-- @coderabbitai help me debug CodeRabbit configuration file.

Note: Be mindful of the bot's finite context window. It's strongly recommended to break down tasks such as reading entire modules into smaller chunks. For a focused discussion, use review comments to chat about specific files and their changes, instead of using the PR comments.

From the provided git diff output, here are three observations that might be potential issues or areas for improvement:

  1. Redundant Installation Steps: The original installation steps for MoonBit CLI are replaced by a single step using the hustcer/setup-moonbit@v1 action. This change simplifies the workflow and reduces redundancy. However, it's crucial to ensure that the hustcer/setup-moonbit@v1 action is well-maintained and provides the same functionality as the manual installation scripts. If the action fails or becomes outdated, it could break the CI pipeline. It's recommended to monitor the action's updates and consider maintaining a fallback method if necessary.

  2. Conditional Installation Removed: The original script had conditional steps for installing MoonBit on different operating systems (if: ${{ matrix.os != 'windows-latest' }} and if: ${{ matrix.os == 'windows-latest' }}). These conditions were removed in the updated script. While the new approach simplifies the workflow, it's essential to verify that the hustcer/setup-moonbit@v1 action supports all intended operating systems (Linux, macOS, Windows) to ensure cross-platform compatibility.

  3. Documentation and Comments: The updated script lacks comments explaining the changes or the rationale behind using the hustcer/setup-moonbit@v1 action. Adding comments to the workflow file can help future maintainers understand the decisions made and ensure the workflow remains manageable and maintainable over time. Comments should explain why a particular action or step is used, any dependencies or assumptions made, and any potential risks or trade-offs.

In summary, the updated workflow simplifies the installation of MoonBit by utilizing a GitHub Action, which is a positive change. However, it's crucial to ensure this action supports all intended platforms and to maintain clear documentation within the workflow file to aid future maintenance and troubleshooting.
