A Makefile compilation/installation script for version 2.0 of Dav1dde's GLAD library.
Before you can actually use this, you need to download GLAD. If you are using GLAD for OpenGL, you need to figure out what version of OpenGL your system supports.
This can be done via glxinfo
:
$ glxinfo | grep "OpenGL core profile version string"
Then you can choose the download media for GLAD on the official website.
You can also generate GLAD bindings from the GitHub repository.
To install GLAD using the Makefile, call make
from the root directory of your GLAD folder:
# your folder may look like this:
glad
├── Makefile # <-- Makefile should be here
├── include
│ ├── KHR
│ │ └── khrplatform.h
│ └── glad
│ └── glad.h
└── src
└── glad.c
make
If the build is successful, the archive and includes should be generated in ./build
.
Navigate into the ./build
directory and call sudo make install
:
cd build
sudo make install
To test whether GLAD has installed correctly, search for glad.pc with pkg-config
:
pkg-config --cflags --libs glad
To uninstall GLAD from pkgconfig, call sudo make uninstall
from within the build directory:
sudo make uninstall
Variable | Description | Default |
---|---|---|
PKG_CONFIG_LIBINFO_DIR | Specifies the output directory of glad.pc | /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig |
STATIC_ARCHIVE_NAME | Name of the static library. | libglad.a |
PREFIX | Location prefix of glad installation. | /usr/local |
BUILD_DIR | Path to build directory. | ./build |
This installation script is still in its "it works on my system" phase, so any and all contributions are welcome.
TODOs are written sporadically in Makefile.
- Support for all GLAD APIs (only OpenGL is supported)
- Shared library generation/installation.
