Definitions

MTL Community of Practice (CP): A group of people who share a common craft or profession who participate in issue discussion threads that have been promoted to the online CP to promote discussion among members of the CP. The progression of the discussion follows the Tracker procedure outlined later in this document.

Epicenter: A web-based enterprise platform the provides server-side multiple-instances of common models such as those authored in Vensim.

GitHub: Is a unified software development platform that promotes discussion and other forms of collaboration to develop, manage and improve software products.

Issue: A card within the GitHub system that is used to organize discussion, information and priorities within a Tracker.

Tracker: A prioritization and tracking system for issues within the GitHub platform, used by Workgroups to manage project efforts.

Modeling to Learn (MTL): The Modeling to Learn program supports multidisciplinary teams of frontline psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing and certified peer support specialist providers in the Veterans Health Administration.

Participatory Design, Learning and Research (PLDR): An algorithm where a user can enter an issue from the Simulation User Interface, and it is communicated to GitHub for dispositioning.

Simulation User Interface (Sim UI): A web-based enterprise presentation of 5 system dynamics models, which represent the Veterans Health Administration mental health care delivery modes.

Team Participatory System Dynamics (Team PSD): A multidisciplinary group of collaborators, from inside and outside the Veterans Health Administration, who are the constructors of the Modeling to Learn program.

Trolling: To make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.

Wiki: A website that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users.

Workgroups: Groups within Team PSD that provide content for the MTL project. Currently consist of the Headquarters, Co-investigator, Facilitate, Model, Quantitative, Qualitative, Simulation User Interface, Employee Education System Workgroup and the Veterans Advisory Partnership for Operations Research workgroups.
