Introduction

This game is called Mario vs. Luigi online, it is a fanmade recreation of a mode in New Super Mario Bros. DS made in Unity. The current version of the game available to the public is version 1.7.1.0 which is also the version used in the WebGL itch.io page.

Game Versions

There are four different versions of the game, each with their own quirks and installation processes. This section will cover them.

WebGL

This is the version that you can play in your browser here. This version does not require an installation to function and can be used on various other devices (such as phones) due to this. However, this version is not recommended as it suffers from a plethora of issues listed below.

  • ping issues this is due to most browsers saving on resources by slowing down tabs that are not active, this is why we ask for hosts to refrain from switching tabs when they are not playing the game.
  • lack of fullscreen this option cannot be enabled on the WebGL version as it will only resize the browser window and not the game itself. You can use zoom tools to try and help with the small window size.
  • copy & paste when adding lobby codes you may encounter issues with copying and pasting links into the WebGL version. This makes joining lobbies via a lobby code harder as they need to be manually typed.

Windows

This is the simplest version to install and can be downloaded here (for 64-bits and 32-bits). Alternatively, the zip file is provided on the itch.io page if you scroll down. To install simply right click the .zip and click on the "Extract All" button on the menu. Software such as 7zip or WinRar can also be used to extract the files. After extraction, you should see a file called "NSMB-MarioVsLuigi.exe" that is the game file. Click on it to play the game.
