Hardware
Be aware, the Roomba Vout is 12V but when it is charging it goes up to 20V! So use a stepdown converter. Your ESP will not take more then 9V on Vin.
The RX/TX lines are 5V, it would be wise to add an voltage divider on the ESP RX pin. I used 20K and 10K resistors for the voltage divider
The roomba connector is a standard 7 DIN
