This issue is to design and implement a new core KPI that quantifies the frequency of equipment and actuator switching caused by the control system throughout the evaluation period and gives a measure of phenomenon like cycling and hunting. The key insight to gain is if the test controller imparts excess wear and tear or potential degradation to equipment and actuators in the system. A proposal has been made and discussion started at the IBPSA Project 2 Task 2 meeting held on March 26, 2024. Minutes and presentation can be found here: https://ibpsa.github.io/project1-boptest/ibpsa/project/meetings/task2/.
