About: Area-wide calendar website that is mobile-friendly. Anyone can post an event; only registered users can vote on these events. Users can sort events by category. All posts tied to location. Consumes and pubishes RSS & ical, display API. Built on Ruby on Rails. On Heroku. Geo-recognizes location. Sign in through FaceBook, Twitter, Google, etc. Fields include event title, description, date, category, place. Map icons change based on type of event. Development site at http://eventsmashapp.com/

Runner Up: TheWhat (Where Humans Are Trending). Combines Foursquare with Twitter and Facebook to show what places in Reno are popular based on checkins. Development site at http://Thewhat.co

Council Watch
About: Web app for Reno City Council agendas. Get notified of agenda items and vote as a user and/or comment on agenda items. Verified users have weighted opinion. App features Upcoming Agenda Items, Log In, Register. Can search by typing in keywords. Also categorized by City Ward.

Runner Up: Taganoid. Mobile and web app. Report graffiti for cleanup and engage community to help. Take a picture, location is geocoded. Click submit. Can track, assign and plan routes as an added benefit for graffiti removal management for the City.

###Best mashup of Art and Technology
Where to go Reno
Mobile app guided art tour, based on user's GPS coordinates. Click on Art Tour and see pinpoints on map of public art locations. The button turns blue as you get closer and you can check in at the locations. Users will be able to claim awards for touring city.

About: Mobile app where users can text their name and birthday to find their voting location.
