Le dernier grand chantier de réforme du programme d'histoire et Civilisation au Québec est marqué par une réorientation des compétences (Gouvernement du Québec, 2010). On y délaisse graduellement l'apprentissage de l'Histoire sous la forme d'un récit, au profit de la transmission de la “méthode historique” et, dans un sens plus large, de la pensée critique via une utilisation de sources primaires (Cariou, 2022) qui présente de nombreux avantages du point de vue du développement citoyen (Martineau, 2010). Or, même 10 ans après la réforme, il reste difficile pour les apprenant·e·s de tirer des conclusions sur une société à travers un document historique en raison d'un manque d'élément de la formation qui mise sur la technique propre à la pratique - plustôt que l'apprentissage - de l'histoire (Éthier et al., 2014). C'est dans ce contexte et face à la demande de certains groupes d'intégrer des notions relatives aux compétences numériques, ce travail propose une activité visant à transmettre une méthode d'analyse des documents historique qui s'inspire du langage XML-TEI (Extensible Markup Language - Text Encoding Initiative), réalisable en milieu scolaire. Le choix de mobiliser la TEI est justifée par les fonction de balisage « thématique » qui permettent aux apprenant·e·s de segmenter différents éléments lui permettant de mobiliser certaines heuristiques (Wineburg 2001 ; Wineburg et al., 2011) à partir de documents textuels, joignant ainsi les disciplines historiques et numériques (ou informatiques). La finalité de ce travail est de proposer une activité pouvant s'effectuer à plusieurs niveau scolaire permettant de sensibiliser les élèves aux enjeux relatifs à la littératie numérique tout en consolidant certaines compétences centrales dans une classe d'histoire. |
