Our goal is to build a world where everyone can touch, learn and develop open source chips. With the booming development of open instruction set architectures (such as RISC-V), we have always believed that open source chips based on it will become another thing that can have a profound impact on the computing revolution after the Internet era. In order to better enable as many people as possible to access and love open source chips, just like the great contribution Arduino has made to open source MCUs - breaking the barriers between design, hardware, and software, we created the Chip Union organization.
The difference between this organization and traditional open source communities is that it focuses on non-technical matters. This is because we believe that correct guidance is more important than technology itself. For this reason, we plan to build a trinity organizational model of [ChipCup + ChipFaire + ChipCon], that is, [Competition + Activities + Conference], hoping to better spread the concept of open source chips through the collision of ideas.
ChipUnion is an open source non-profit organization. It has no affiliation with other open source organizations, scientific research institutions and enterprises. We encourage all forms of cooperation, but any behavior that violates the open source license is unacceptable. Finally, anyone who is interested in open source chips is welcome to join us and write a new chapter in the open source world!
