"Driving by Thanksgiving" is commonly said in reference to the mechanical team's progress or lack thereof. It originated in November 2016 as an estimate of the rover's capabilities by the end of the month. The rover was driving by early 2019.

The rover pre-IGVC 2019 had a knack for getting close to a barrel then spinning in a circle, hitting it's e-stop in the process. This also happened at the competition on the practice course. The plastic bags seen on the rover were for waterproofing.
