With the release of Material Design 3.0 I don't find it relevant to support this plugin any longer. It doesn't really fit the new guidelines so this package will only recieve minimal mainenance that will mostly include minor bug fixes. I consider it to be stable and usable in it's current state.
Add jitpack.io in your top-level build.gradle:
allprojects {
repositories {
...
maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
}
}
Add the dependency:
dependencies {
implementation 'com.github.Kwasow:BottomNavigationCircles-Android:<Version Tag>'
}
Available versions:
Release | Version Tag | Comment |
---|---|---|
legacy | 1.0 | material [version <= 1.3.0] |
stable | 1.2 | material [version >= 1.4.0] |
beta | 1.1-beta6 | material [version >= 1.4.0] |
Just add the view to your layout:
<androidx.coordinatorlayout.widget.CoordinatorLayout
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_width="match_parent">
<com.github.kwasow.bottomnavigationcircles.BottomNavigationCircles
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:layout_gravity="start|bottom"
app:menu="@menu/menu_bottom_navigation_bar"/>
</androidx.coordinatorlayout.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
The view is an extension to the material.io BottomNavigationView, and implements all it's functions. The following custom properties are available:
navigationView.circleColor = Color.RED
navigationView.darkIcon = true
navigationView.backgroundShape = BottomNavigationView.Shape.RoundedRectangle
Or through XML:
app:circleColor="@color/red"
app:darkIcon="true"
app:backgroundShape="circle|roundedRectangle"
app:customBackgroundShape="@drawable/bg_custom"
The recommended size for custom backgrounds is 24dp by 24dp.
