Genes Track View
Genes track shows both coding and non-coding gene transcripts with introns, exons, utr5 and utr3 information. The track uses GTF genes annotations downloaded from http://www.ensembl.org. You could find the annotations file location and its version using About Track
action from a track context menu.
For each gene, the track view shows all possible transcripts got from the gene alternative splicing. If it is possible the track view shows each transcript on a separate line, if it is not enough space rest transcripts are shown on the last line after a dashed line.
To expand grouped transcripts below dashed line enlarge track height (using Track Height
action from track context menu).
- Protein coding genes: Blue.
- Protein non-coding genes: Dark Gray.
Arrows show transcript reading direction: >>>
(plus strand); <<<
(minus strand). Gene name label is shown at genes 5' end.
- Introns are drawn using transparent color
- Exons are drawn with opaque color
- UTRs (untranslated regions) are drawn as opaque boxes with height smaller compared to coding sequence
- CDS (coding sequence) is drawn using larger box height ![alt text](https://github.com/JetBrains-Research/jbr/wiki/images/genes_track/utrs_cds.png
When you navigate to a gene by its name using Go
button the gene will be focused, and all other genes will be grayed out.
You could press Esc
keyboard key to make other genes not grayed.
About Track
action additionally shows focused gene information if it is available:
