UX Study General Recommendations

Chris Child edited this page Jul 27, 2020 · 2 revisions

The review made specific suggestions and recommendations. The results of the UX study lead to the following more general recommendations:

  • The TeSS technical work plan needs to address the issues raised, and in particular the search, filter and tagging facilities and the browser-popup problems.
  • The TrCG needs to produce a workable plan for curating the content where the burden is shared by nodes, providers and users. Approaches for supporting curation (for example, reporting dead links, automated checking for dead links and old content) need to be deployed.
  • The TrCG need to regularly address and review against a user target base that is not providers but users, esp outside ELIXIR; i.e. to think outside the ELIXIR bubble
  • The TrCG should seriously reconsider the Workflows function. What target audience is it serving? Is it as important as better search and better content? It is tempting to develop "interesting" bells and whistles rather than core capability.
