I think it's time to update this theme. There is a lot happening in the community, I'll try to mix those trends to keep this theme up to date.

You may find the new version under branch v2. It's in beta.

This is nice! I was about to suggest removing Disqus but I guess this was done already if I checked correctly?

I use a fork of this theme turning it dark. I'd like to leave as a suggestion to offer toggleable light/dark flag.

Turned it dark here: https://github.com/oblitum/hugo-theme-slim/commit/e4199b95b2e9ebf7e00520b1b887f26137dda986

I also have KaTeX in my fork, which is quite cool, could also possibly be an option for the math savy.

Nice to know we could use GitHub issues for commenting. 🤓 It'd be nice to have a toggle flag. Will it leave it as an option for the author or the user? KaTex looks cool. I'll leave it as an option too. 😆

@zhe I think as a user option is even nicer, just sometimes even I don't want mine black, but it's already :P, what should be present at author's configuration at last is the default setting, dark or light. On KaTeX, your call, I've just updated my CDN URLs, you may use as reference coupled to the original commit.

Hello there,

In which state is the v2.0?

I do some changes on my weblog on slim theme. I want to know what I can do to contribute to slim in some ways.

Should I suggest some PR? If yes on which branch? Or should I use my own fork and add changes on it?

It would be nice to have these change on a theme that is present on themes.gohugo.io so that a lot of people take advantage of this theme ;)
