Every dataset is organised as a Cube Project. One set of input data might need the creation of multiple Cube Projects to be properly published. All aspects and metadata can be changed for each cube.

Create a new Cube Project

To create a new Cube Project select New Project from the main page after login.

Project Name: Please be specific with your project name to make it easily distinguishable from other projects.

Organization: Inform yourself which is the correct organization profile needed for your dataset to publish to the correct data base and namespace.

Cube Identifier: You need provide a unique name for the cube project, which will internally used as identifier and used inside the published data.

Change Cube Project Metadata

Fabian: I propose a new page to describe the very first step: create a new project.
Here we describe the project settings, and also the "Delete project" button.

Questions:

  • In the "New Project" formular, what does the "Start project from" -> "Existing cube" mean, is it a working functionality ?
  • When deleting a project, the published data will stay in the public database right ? We should inform about this in this documentation and in the GUI as well (for instance in the pop-up displayed when pressing the "delete project" button)

Once the project is created, its settings can be edited on the first tab that shows the name of the project.

add a section "Cube project"? Open a Cube Project is the first step ! (Cube identifier : unique within an organization. Each organization defines its own systematic to create unique identifiers for its cubes, Cube id is taken over by opendata.swiss / Organization: who is contacted if an organization needs to be added?)
