Documents aren't associated with users unless they're associated with groups.

There's currently no concept of "individual ownership", and no global concept of a "creator" of a thing. As a result, the dashboard doesn't list things that are created by signed-in users, but not associated with a group, as "your recent things" (though events associated with those things do show up in "recent activity").

It may be worth introducing the concept of a creator/owner to the sharing model, so that un-group-associated-but-created-while-authenticated things remain associated with you.
