Not able to block spotify audio ads #41
Comments
Same here i mac 11.6. the banners in app are blocked but audio adds are still there |
same in ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS |
Same for me on Windows 10 using the Spotify web-player (I haven't installed the app). |
@iteqla download the ublock extension, it blocks ads in the web player |
I am not sure I understand your reply. The point of building an efficient blocklist is that in this form (instead of a browser plugin) you can use it at the DNS level, thus applying it to all devices in your network without having to configure them individually. |
Oh I agree with you, I didn't mean to give you a solution, but rather an alternative that might help until the script is fixed :) |
Doesn't work anymore it seems. |
I was listening to spotify and it worked for me earlier today. |
Same here, Mac OS 10.14.6 audio ads are getting through |
Thank you for pointing this out. it works perfectly! |
Same :) |
Hey yall I've also tried to block ads using the hosts file (an0n-00/spotify-ad-hosts) and realised, that it does not work. (some urls send ads and music...). I've created a new approach, by injecting JS into the desktop app, it works perfectly as of 2024. You can read more at an0n-00/SpotifyAB |
it works for a couple of hours but not accurate |
