Auto-complete for YAML file resources would be very powerful and help prevent many operator errors.

This is supported, but sometimes required an editor restart after CRDs are installed in order to make it work. I believe the validation comes from the OpenAPI spec that is built into ClusterResourceDefinitions, you get autocomplete for many fields, (it would be great to incorporate this into some of our demo/intro documentation because it's key functionality!)

I am not sure if this is provided by the Kubernetes extension, but I think it is.
