The Index and Tracker are products, but Self-Host is a feature, Community aspect, and Blog and About are information.

There is no visual distinction between these conceptually different aspects of the website.

@da2ce7
I see what you mean, but for consistency in the look of visual look and feel I would not consider making any visual distinction in the menu structure, I cannot think right now of any menu of this sort that specifically makes a distinction.

For your information regarding the structure of the website, Jose and I looked at the website structure and we devised it in Miro and then passed it on to Fer. The logic behind the structure that we tried to focus on is the following which are the most relevant questions that a potential user or contributor and need to be answered and reduce the number of clicks and searching this information.

The main questions to be answered:
What is Torrust? - Home Page
What is the Index? - Index
What is the tracker? - Tracker
Can I self host? - Self Host
Is there a community?- Community

We also checked some other Open Source and Product websites to get some inspirations.

Hi @da2ce7 do you mean the whole page or only the menu? and do you mean color/style or content structure?

Regarding content structure

I agree we are mixing different things at the same level, but we only have six items. I would reorganize it differently when we have more items.

Something I've always considered confusing is we don't have a name for the Index+Tracker setup. Actually, it's just an Index that happens to need an external service to work.

We have two products but the Index can't be installed independently from the tracker. I mean, you can install it on a different server, but the index depends on a running tracker. I think we could have put the "self-host" section inside each product (Index and Tracker), but the idea of the section was just to give you an overview of how to install all products.

We could have also moved the about page into the community or the opposite but since we consider the community vital for the project we decided to make it more visible.

Regarding color or other UI stuff

I don't know :-). I don't have an opinion there, and It probably would not be very valuable :-)
