One of my most fulfilling experiences began when Dr. Saeimi Sadigh, my professor, discussed poor valve spring quality, causing rattle and exhaust manifold failure. I worked around the clock with the guidance of Dr. Jahdi to create and simulate a CAD replica of the motor to study it for the first time.
This project is part of a level 2 end-of-semester exam course in Industrial Mathematics that focuses on Numerical Simulations for Selected 1D and 2D Mass Spring Models and Applications.
This programme/project calculates the vibrational modes and frequencies of multiple degrees of freedom of any size. The frequencies and modal shapes give an idea of how the objects deform.
