I don't want to install Go or docker on the server just to be able to use this tool. It would be handy if the releases came with prebuilt binaries for at least GOOS=linux GOARCH=amd64.

We currently distribute packages for Ubuntu, Debian, and RPM via their package managers -- it's called timescaledb-tools. You can follow similar instructions for installing the main database.
Is this for another distribution in those? We can certainly look into distributing binaries on Github too
