Feature request: Link to CNCF's merchandise page and have a banner for "news alerts"

It would also be good if press links like this one--ones that include video and are relatively high profile— could be accessible from the splash page as well. People probably won't go looking for such clips, but if they can access them easily, I bet many would watch. Can we somehow bring a clip like this forward when we have something without tieing us to always having some kind of clip in that place? I think it would be a great way to generate interest in the site and maybe bring the reader who just stumbles upon us, as opposed to those looking for us, into the site.

A link to the merchandise page from a top-level heading on the splash page, and a temporary banner, like the "news alert" banner commonly used by news websites, is one way we can do it.

Do we want to link to the merch from the ABOUT page? Probably makes the most sense. Lois
