I just migrate from Domoticz to Home Assistant and came across this program. It works good, but the MQTT isn't delivered to Home Assistant. The reason herefor is that Home Assistant upgraded its security and to connect to MQTT requires username and password.

Is it possible to extend smartmeter2mqtt so that there are 2 new configuration options: --mqtt-username and --mqtt-password?

It should accept the following, though not documented.

mqtt://user:password@host:port
