Mission statement?

Hi, I just wondered why this repo was made, and what it has over the one listen on openttd webpages :)

Probably it was in pre-git times of openTTD. Note the svn2github.com is
automated service and anyone could trigger cloning SVN openTTD repo to
git with it.
