The documentation for Grappelli show a way to hide the position field on the admin inlines, this is show in the section Rearrange inlines of their documentation, i haven't been able to find this in grappelli-safe, does it have another name or is not implemented?

Unfortunately grappelli-safe doesn't support this feature. It'd be great to have it backported from Grappelli. Feel free to open a PR, I can help you get it merged in.
