Issue Report Checklist

  • Searched the issues page for similar reports

  • Reproduced the issue after updating with conda update spyder (or pip, if not using Anaconda)
  • Could not reproduce inside jupyter qtconsole (if console-related)

    • Restarted Spyder
    • Reset preferences with spyder --reset
    • Reinstalled the latest version of Anaconda

Problem Description

Not able to launch Spyder4 in Windows10.
Error: Access denied
Python is working well. I ran upgrade on Spyder and it also fine.

What steps reproduce the problem?

  1. Run Spyder4.exe from the folder

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I see access denied message. Spyder has been running properly since installed and no changes to my Windows 10 until recently.
