I work primarily on open-source projects, for free.

At the time of writing, my most popular project, @zenfs/core, has almost 50,000 monthly downloads. To make even minimum wage ($15/hour), I would only need $.03 per download- a small price to pay for the amount of work I've put into this project.

And this is only one project. I work on multiple other projects, working over 25 hours a week, essentially a part-time job.
