I am a physicist working in the optical frequency metrology field. I've been involved in the Free Software world long enough to remember the transition from the Linux kernel version 1.3 to 2.0. I've always been fascinated by the Free Software philosophy and I been contributing to open source projects since the CVS days. With a family and a demanding job it is harder to dedicate time for open source projects. Receiving some compensation would make it easier to rationally allocate time for hacking. These days I mostly hack on meson-python and on the Beancount ecosystem.
