Developing hardware solutions carries some extra costs. For every project I post, there's a half dozen more that are never published because they didn't work out in one way or another, and each project generally involves a development cycle where several parts are purchased and then broken, abused, or just don't work out.

A compiler throwing an error costs me time, but getting the wrong set of rubber grommets (which of course only come in 100 at a time) costs a week and $20.
