Try playing the same file directly in mpv. If you encounter same performance issues then it is not smplayer issue. It is just that your system is not powerful enough to play 4k 60 fps smoothly. Try using ~Raza |

Try using profile=fast option with mpv. If it resolves the issue then just pass this option to smplayer as well. WOOOOWW bro,it's work.... can I add this config in smplayer.ini? because in the Smplayer GUI there is no description (smplayer for mac) |

Yes you can. But in smplayer you do not edit the .ini, you need to pass these options through smplayer settings. You can even have a text file with multiple options that you can pass on to mpv through smplayer. Follow the instructions for a custom conf file that I mentioned in your other thread here. The conf file that I mentioned is just a text file with extension changed to .conf, you may change it to something else if you want just as long as it stays a text file. As far as your other question is concerned, I do not have a mac to test, nor have I ever used smplayer on a mac, so I am unable to help you in that regards. ~Raza . EDIT: By the way, you do not need to create a custom conf file, you can pass all these option directly into smplayer. Just make sure the option starts with a - and there is space after each. So in your case it will be:
The reason I personally use a custom conf file is because the field where you enter these options in smplayer is just a line. It is meant for only passing one or two options not more. With multiple options it becomes impossible to read and edit. I wish it was a wide scrollable text box instead of a line, where each new line is considered a new option, and # is used for comments. Just like mpv conf file. |

If smplayer is not passing the options to mpv on mac then you will need to get @smplayer-dev help as I cannot do anything about it. But before you do, test it by passing this option Save it, and then restart smplayer and play any video file. The video should be upside down. If it is not, then smplayer is not passing options to mpv. ~Raza |

Then I am assuming that smplayer does not allow the profile option and the priority option to pass to mpv. What you can do instead is to pass the

It's not that smplayer doesn't pass the --profile option, it's that --profile=fast doesn't exist (or it's not defined by default). If you pass any of the available options, it wouldn't fail. |

It doesn't seem like there will be much different changes if I use the profile above, is this an issue? because on my portable MPV I can use profile=fast |

Nice catch! I was under the assumption that @tonho911 was using mpv 0.37, he mentioned it somewhere, but now that I took a closer look at the logs posted above, he is in fact using mpv 0.36 release version. The fast profile was added later
Most likely your portable mpv version is 0.37 which includes the fast profile. |

When seeking (forward or rewind) a 2160p/4k video, the video will pause for 0.5 seconds each time. This is not an issue on mpv stand alone or the front-end app xt-7. -profile=fast -hwdec=auto -priority=high, gave an error message, but adding just '-hwdec=auto', allowed the SmPlayer to run fine. This was already manually set in Performance > Decoding. I also have 'Threads for decoding (Mpeg and H264 only)' set to 2. 4 made no difference. |

I'm using Mac OS Ventura and it's playing family videos in MOV 4K 60 format but it's very slow/lag
things that have been done
2.threads for decoding ->1-16 still the same lag
3.outout driver->default,lipmpv,etc still the same lag
Is there any setting that I missed?
and I also tried the old settings, running MPlayer/mpv in its own window also lags
