I would prefer the original design because of its cleanness, but it's also good to see some changes.

Just one suggestion, two Adams on the homepage might look a bit redundant. BTW I think if there is going to be a navbar we can totally place the darkmode switch in it.

Thank you very much for opening an issue on this!
The distraction-free posts look very nice, maybe this could be simply be offered as another "layout" option for the posts?
On the navbar, I agree with @DotIN13. The small and clean navbar below the image was one of my major reasons to use this style.
