Steps to reproduce

  1. Install a Debian container
  2. Install dbus-x11 inside of the container (see Add the dbus-x11 package which includes dbus-launch #17)
  3. Install sudo and run the debian.sh script from https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=101080
  4. Confirm the desktop starting, kill qxdisplay
  5. Go into harbour-containers -> Container screen and click X session
  6. Enter the PIN code

Expected results

  1. The qxdisplay window should pop up
  2. The desktop should start

Actual results

  • No visible feedback in the GUI or stdout (if running harbour-containers in the Fingerterm)
  • Desktop session not started

To make sure I understand well, the button does not work after qxdisplay has been killed once, but it works if the container was just started (provided dbus-x11 is installed manually or using your PR #17), correct ?

What is your SFOS version and what is your SFOS user name?

Also try the new version of harbour-containers (see instructions in the Readme to remove the old one you had) from the Chum repository (Testing for now, hopefully it makes it to the main repository later today).

Also check "Known issues/limitations" and try starting X from CLI.
