@DaisyOlsen - interesting that this isn't yet a core block!

Another cool iteration of this functionality could be to allow an author (based on permissions) - to be able to hover over a block on the front-end and to Edit Block which would then go to the post editor (block editor) - focusing on that exact block on the post/page!

So you could scroll down the page and edit individual parts of the page from the front-end...
