Janani Ravi is a computational biologist working on host-pathogen biology, protein sequence-structure-function relationships, and drug repurposing. She is interested in quantitative biology, likes to code and develop methods, and enjoys being in a collaborative environment addressing interesting biological questions. She also enjoys teaching statistical data analysis and visualization and R programming.

Janani's research interests lie in developing computational approaches to address the challenge of turning large-­scale data into actionable insights in infectious diseases. Her professional memberships include American Society of Microbiology, International Society for Computational Biology, American Thoracic Society, R-Ladies Global, and R-Ladies East Lansing, of which she is founder and organizer.
