The site isn't supported by Cast Kodi. I'll see if I can get the videos from VOD. For the lives, I can't do anything because I need a US TV Provider to connect (and I'm in France). 😞 |

Hello,
I love this plugin and it works great for something like a public Youtube video. However, I've been having trouble when trying to cast a live stream lately where the website requires that I "login with my tv provider" first. I have a valid login and I'm able to successfully play the live stream on my computer. However, when I cast this to Kodi, the video will not play. I'm trying to play a video from ballysports.com.
The video appears to send properly to Kodi from the plugin, but then in Kodi I end up getting the error ""Playback Failed - One or more items failed to play." The full error log is here and I believe the relevant portion is below:
When I asked about this on the Kodi forums, the reply I got made it sound like any stream with DRM wouldn't work. ("Streams with DRM won't work when casting with uPnP. ") But is this really the case (and does Kodi Cast even use uPnP)? I have looked around and haven't found somewhere that clearly states that only public videos would work. And I see examples of some sites as supported which definitely require a login, i.e. Facebook. Or maybe those only work because they are officially supported instead of being from a random website?
Anyway, with so many tools and systems involved in the chain, it's hard to pinpoint where the issue might be. Not sure if this even is a bug, or just expected behavior.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks,
