I noticed a very strange behavior, when loading a plug-in package (Ctrl + Shift + L), data frames in RStudio start opening not in the source window as a separate tab, but in separate windows, as in the screenshot below.

What could this be related to?

RStudio version 2024.12.0
DevTools version 2.4.5

Can you provide detailed, reproducible steps for what you mean by this:

when loading a plug-in package (Ctrl + Shift + L)

Does this happen universally or when you load_all() a specific R package?

You are right, I just tried it on another package and there is no such problem, in my case the problem occurs with the rgoogleads (https://github.com/selesnow/rgoogleads) package.

Perhaps you could give me a hint as to what might be causing this problem?
