I wrote an FAQ article for this one. If someone already has it, feel free to delete mine.
How old is too old for Cybersecurity?
This is an easy one. It's NEVER too old to start a career in CyberSecurity. There is a documented gap in the CyberSecurity industry. More and more companies are starting the own CyberSecurity programs after pressure from their boards or from seeing corporate breaches in the news.
This means that more and more open CyberSecurity positions will be opened in the next few years. This is an opportunity for YOU.
I don't see any reason why I wouldn't hire someone into an open position, regardless of their age. If they have CyberSecurity experience, great! If they have IT experience, great! If they don't have either, but have a passion to get into this field…. GREAT!
Remember, in the US, it is illegal for a hiring manager to discount you because of your age. So if you have an interest in learning this field, don't let age be the thing that holds you back.
