I've seen a few posts about this. Not sure if I'm biting off more than I can chew here, but would be willing to take a shot on taking this one as well.

What do I need in my resume to get an interview for a cybersecurity job?

Depending on the job you are interested in, the answer can vary greatly. Regardless of the role, there are a few things that should be in your resume.

  • A summary at the top with your experience summarized in a few short sentences.
  • Any CyberSecurity job experiences should be the top few bullets for each job.
  • Any IT experience should be right below these bullets (remember, CyberSecurity is a part of IT)
  • Any degree or security certifications (Security+, Network+, etc.). If you don't have these but are studying towards them, list that in your resume as well)
  • Any group you have been a part of that could show leadership. i.e., Military, Boy/Girl Scouts, etc.

Be clear and concise in your resume. Try to keep it to no more than 2 pages.
